Fourth Week

“If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is.”   John von Neumann

This week, we have tackled about the Applications of Exponential Functions like Population Growth, Exponential Decay, Population Decay, Half-life/Radioactive Decay. I felt so happy and great because I am not confused now and I really understand our lesson for this whole week. Good thing that Ma’am Lalalyn gave us some practice exercises to solve. Practice makes perfect! Hope that our next lessons or topics will be easier for me and apply what I learn in different and many ways. Thank you Ma’am Lala! Our first month started very well.

Third Week

This week is full of functions for the nth time. But I enjoyed what we discussed this week. We discussed about Zeros of Exponential Function, Graph of an Exponential Function and Applications of the Exponential Functions. I easily understood these lessons but I am a little bit confused sometimes, specially when the equation is complicated. All I have to do is to focus, practice more examples and review well. Hope that I can easily understand and cope up to the next lessons we will discuss in Math IV.

Second Week

This week, we discussed about Solving Exponential Equations whereas the solution of these equations is limited to those equations whose members can be expressed as integral powers of the same base. At first, I can easily and simply find x. But when it comes to a complicated exponential equation, I'm a little bit confused. I don't know what I will do first. Especially when the equation is composed of fractions, etc. All I have to do is to practice solving exponential equations and review further. Hope that I can cope up with this lesson and understand it well. :>

First Week

"God does not care about our mathematical difficulties - he integrates empirically" -- Albert Einstein

On the first day of school, I never thought that Ma’am Lalalyn N. Patayan will be our section adviser because first of all she is a Math Teacher and our class should be handled by a Science Teacher. But I’m glad to know that she is our adviser. Good thing is that it was not my first time to meet Ma’am Lala. So I was the one who approach Ma’am Lala and asked if she would meet us, get to know each other and give our class schedule. She oriented us about class rules and a lot more. On the second day, Ma’am Lalayn gave the course outline/content and requirements of our Math subject. Mathematics IV is all about Pre-Calculus/Calculus. I have to review, focus well on the lessons and must listen while Ma’am Lala is discussing. On the third day of this week, we elected our homeroom officers. Unfortunately, I was not elected but it’s okay, I know that God has more plans :> Ma’am Lala also said that we will start discussing our first lesson tomorrow. So I need to review and have an advance reading. On the fourth day, we started our lesson about Exponential Function. We have a brief review about our past lessons. On the fifth day, we discussed about Evaluating Exponential Function and have our first quiz.

All I can say is that I’m now starting to love Math and our first week in Math with Ma’am Lala is so great!
